making craft day happen

it grew like a seed in the loamy soil of my mind. a craft day. one day a week to tidy up the space, make a pot of tea or coffee and spend a few hours working happily in the company of another like minded soul.

and now it is real. thursdays are craft days with jean. this lovely coil of felted wool is the beginnings of her current project. the flower up above is one of mine. and while we work we talk. we cover all topics big and small. we break for lunch. we work a little more. and as she slices into many strips the bags and bags of sweaters she has collected and felted, the scraps that are left behind become embroidered rings in my hands.

thursdays are good days. there will be further reports. and many stories to come...
