big flavors: lemon pasta... again

it was a happy day when i first discovered this delectable combination of flavors.  i was watching nigella lawson whip up a big glossy mound of this during my early years of devotion to her first series (and book), nigella bites.  as she added lemon zest and juice, egg yolks, heavy cream and cheese to a steaming hot bowl of linguine i think i swooned.  within twenty four hours i had assembled all of the ingredients in my own kitchen and i have been making and loving this dish over and over happily ever after.

i do, however, have a family member who will not eat "raw eggs" no matter how convincingly i argue the case that the hot pasta actually cooks them on contact.  so it was a new kind of happy day when i happened upon an episode of giada de laurentiis' everyday italian and mastered her egg-free version of my now favorite pasta dish.  well, one of my top ten faves, at least.

It sounds lovely!! How about trying lemon and vodka risotto - yet another deliciously light summer flavour! My recipe is from a book called Risotto Risotto by Valentina Harris but there is a recipe here too:
