auspicious day :: 1000th post

 
yes, really. this is my 1000th post here and i feel ought to have something momentous to say. but the big K snuck up on me. and here i am thinking about autumn again, seeing fall palettes in everything around me. saving the scraps from my recent matting and framing extravaganza because the colors and shapes intrigued me. arranging the scraps into an abstract design, photographing it and creating a repeat pattern...

and uploading it to make a printed fabric. and wanting to tell you all about it, how i did it and how you can do it, too..

still making stuff from scraps, doing more with less, constructing something by using whatever materials happen to be available. same old thing i've always done, living a bricolagelife. but doing all of this here and finding 1000 things to post about and share with you has been momentous and auspicious in itself. i've connected with some amazing new friends and found a creative way to keep in touch with old friends and learned so much sitting in front of this screen in my tiny workroom. so thank you so much for hanging around thru 1000 of my ramblings and thank you for responding and commenting and keeping in touch. its hard to imagine having another 1000 things to say, but i'm game if you are. everything's an adventure - let's see where it takes us!

I am addicted to Spoonflower! It's loads of fun, isn't it? So far I've only ordered a sample of one print I've created and a swatch book, but I am dying to order a whole bunch of designs. Besides going through all my older photos to find details I can use for patterns I am now beginning to shoot photos specifically for patterns.
