it was a stimulating activity to shoot in black and white film after so much digital color. trying to retrain my eye to see the light and shadow in scenes around me was a good exercise, as well as reacquainting myself with the settings of my rollei 35B. this vintage camera doesn't allow me to focus thru the viewfinder. so besides having to wait for the negatives to be developed, every click of the shutter is half guesswork. tho not always completely successful in the finished image, some interesting effects show up in the prints. i'm happy with that.
and now that i am saving up to have a few rolls of expired kodachrome processed before the deadline (the one lab left still processing this beautiful extinct film will cease kodachrome printing on december 30th 2010) i am eager to see what a fresh look at color produces...
see more kodachrome here.
see more black and white film shots here.
thank you so much - and, welcome!

I just stumbled over here from flickr and what a treat to discover this beautiful space of yours. These photographs are beautiful - mysterious. So nice to meet you.
