it's a great time of year to snuggle up in a cozy chair with a good book to read...
daisychain vintage shop is alive and well! i have taken a break from my art projects to shoot some of the pretty items piling up in the studio and get them ready to stock the shelves. this is one of my favorite things to do - i wanted to share a little peek at what's heading into the shop this week :)
a set of six pink tulip glasses, a miniature advertising calendar from 1917, a guardian angel switch plate, a monogrammed bone glove stretcher and much much more...
i am escaping the steamy hot weather by spending the weekend indoors working on my current projects and i thought i might let you know that the loop scarf in dancer fabric is this close to being sold out! find the last one in my bricolagelife shop :)
and the loop scarf in security dots fabric has been restocked. every loop scarf is cut and made by hand so slight variations make each a one of a kind piece. pretty, super lightweight and easy to wear, they will also bring good luck and change your life for the better.
well, maybe. but get one soon or you will never know for sure...
i came across these calendar pages while searching thru my plentiful collage supplies. i've had them so long i can't recall if i had a project in mind or simply saved them because i love the dutch illustrator's work so much (i do this a lot). since i can't seem to cut them up and haven't glued them on to anything in years (altho i believe they would make a lovely treasure box) or even framed them, i've decided to part with them. i have some pages from the books fairies and children of the stars listed in my clubhouse books shop now and more to come!
and there are still seven days left to take advantage of the summer sale in the shop - don't miss it :)
summer loop scarves are freshly listed in my bricolagelife shop this week and these limited edition fabrics will only be available until the current yardage in stock runs out! i've had some lovely feedback on these and thought you might like to order yours before they are all gone :)
find them listed here.
i have added a custom framing option (also in limited quantities) for your hand embroidered button portraits. check it out here and find a button here. the shadow box frame makes a perfect display that can sit on a desk or shelf - or hang on a wall.
oh, books. how i love you. and how you do stack up in piles all over my clubhouse waiting to be listed in the vintage book shop... time for a summer sale to make more room for fresh listings! it's easy - simply browse the shelves and fill a shopping cart with your favorite titles, then type summer20 in the coupon code box at checkout and automatically save 20% on your total purchase. yay!
good morning! here is a quick look at what's new on the shelves in my clubhouse books shop:
the illustrations in this large format gyo fujikawa alphabet book are so cute i can hardly stand it.

looks like its going to be a perfect weekend for relaxing in your favorite spot and reading a good book :)
it has been months since i began the sketching and stitching on this batch of embroidered woodland animals. yesterday i finally tied off the last knot on my one inch portraits, washed, pressed and mounted them on their button bases. after countless hours considering every possible framing option - the solution presented itself as i laid out my supplies on the work table. i love when this happens.
each button is strung on vintage silk ribbon, tied around a square of pig skin suede (both rummage sale finds) and set in a clean black shadow box frame. i think they look great! now you may hang your embroidimals on a wall or set them on a shelf. and if you choose to wear yours as a brooch or pendant, simply open the removable backing and untie the ribbon to release the button from the frame! yay!
wolverine and river otter are pictured above - swamp rabbit and golden mouse will join them soon. i will be listing these in the bricolagelife shop over the next few days - please stop by and have a look.
